Description
Seiko Presage Style 60’s Automatic Blue Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Mens Watch SRPG05J1
This timepiece is from the Presage 60s Style: practical modern watches with retro vintage 1960s looks. The collection is inspired by the design of Japan’s first ever chronograph, originally created by Seiko in 1964 to coincide with an important sporting event in Tokyo.
This modern version is updated with the 4R movement and lumibrite in subtle sepia to create its vintage look with no compromise on brightness and practicality.
Seiko Presage: Timeless looks, precisely Japanese mechanical timekeeping. Minimalistic watch designs with a distinctly Japanese aesthetic.
The Case:
The silver stainless steel case is complemented by sleek gold tones that bestow the watch with a quintessential dress watch feel. The design of the watch is inspired by Seiko’s 1964 crown chronograph, these modern iterations retain the same shape and feel as the original 1964 models through their fixed 60-minute bezel, box-shaped Hardlex crystal and the same 40.8mm diameter. The fixed blue bezel is complemented by elegant silver markers that form a 60-minute scale. The SRPG05J1 measures on 12mm in height, which allows it to sit appropriately under a shirt cuff or other formal-style attire. On the side of the case there is an easy-to-grip silver crown that has been embossed with the Seiko logo.
The Dial:
The simplistic design of the blue dial pays homage to the uncomplicated design of the 1964 Crown Chronograph, this is perhaps where it shares the greatest similarities with its predecessor. The dial does employ a subtle two tone surface design through the visual barrier that is created by circular brushed hour chapter ring, while the rest of the dial is sunray-brushed.
The dial shares other features present on the 1964 model, such as applied indexes and the elegant silver dauphine handset. The Seiko logo is also presented beneath the 12 o’clock marker in the brand’s vintage font. The hands and indexes feature LumiBrite material, which allows the wearer to read the dial in the dark. One of the most visible modern updates to the watch is the addition of a date window that is enclosed by a silver frame.
The Bracelet:
The bracelet is made from stainless steel and it comes fashioned in a classic three-link oyster style. The simplistic design of the oyster bracelet was was first introduced by Rolex in 1948 and it since been closely associated with sports watches, due to their utilitarian character that ensures that the bracelet remains secured to the wrist during sporting activities. The three fold clasp, with secure lock, also helps to ensure that the the watch remains securely fastened to the wearer’s wrist.
The Functions:
Seiko’s 4R35 automatic movement which has a power reserve of 41-hours. It consists of 24 jewels and it has an accuracy of +45/-35 seconds per day. It also offers hand winding feature, as well as a hacking feature. It is water resistant up to 50 metres, which permits the wearer to wear the watch when swimming in shallow water.

Free Strap Adjustment
It's important that your watch fits your wrist comfortably and looks great at the same time.
Leather strap watches tend to fit without a problem for most wearers. However, watches fitted with metal bracelets often need adjusting to get the perfect fit.
This is generally a very simple procedure. We can do this for you, or you can get the watch adjusted locally.
Option 1. Specify your wrist measurement and we will adjust it before being sent
When purchasing a watch which has a metal bracelet with adjustable links, we will gladly adjust the watch bracelet to fit your wrist before sending the watch to you - free of charge!
Simply type your wrist measurement (in inches or centimetres) into the bracelet size section of the checkout and we will ensure the watch bracelet is adjusted accordingly before being sent to you. We will include all the surplus links, with the watch.
How to measure your wrist
You can measure your wrist with a piece of string which you can measure against a ruler:
You should allow about half a centimetre (1/4 inch) of slack to prevent it being too tight on your wrist.
In the event of you needing an extra-long wrist bracelet, which requires an extension to the original watch, we must obtain extra links from the manufacturer, and in this event, we will contact you to inform you of any possible delays or applicable charges.
Watches with bracelets adjusted by WatchNation are still eligible under our refund policy.
Option 2. Buy the watch online from WatchNation and have it adjusted locally
If you wish, you can have it adjusted locally by another jeweller or key cutter. However, you will have to cover the cost of this option yourself.
