Description

Having only been founded in 1975 as part of Desco von Schulthess of Zurich, Maurice Lacroix has enjoyed a rapid ascension to the pinnacle of Swiss watchmaking, picking up scores of awards and patents in the process. Desco von Schulthess began life as a silk trader in 1889, but by 1946 it had expanded to become the representative for luxury watch brands such as Audemars Piaget, Heuer, Eterna, and Jaeger-Lecoultre. In the years that followed, Desco became increasingly keen to expand its presence in the timepiece industry, with this culminating in the 1961 purchase of an assembly facility in the global capital of watchmaking, the Swiss Canton of Jura. Third party production ceased at this facility in 1975, and a new brand was launched, taking its name from a Desco board member named Mr. Lacroix. 2006 saw the company reveal the ML 106 calibre, the first movement installed in a Maurice Lacroix timepiece to be entirely designed and developed in-house; just a few decades after its creation, the company had joined the exclusive club of Swiss Manufacture brands with the capabilities to produce its own complex movement components for mechanical timepieces. State-of-the-art workshops in Mountfacon were needed as a result of this breakthrough, where to this day Maurice Lacroix watchmakers toil away to produce low-volume individual parts with high added value. The result of this is that each Maurice Lacroix timepiece is an expert blend of tradition, creative development and cutting-edge technology, meaning that every watch that leaves the workshop not just perfect in form but also in function. Now capable of producing fourteen unique and innovative movements, many of which are painstakingly finished by hand, Maurice Lacroix has collaborated with people as diverse as Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, golfer Justin Rose and musician Bob Geldof, and is also the official watch partner of FC Barcelona and the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. Such wide-ranging global recognition is testament to the formidable reputation this brand has amassed in a relatively short space of time; with this certain to grow given the calibre of superb products in continues to produce.

Taking its name from the Italian word for fairy-tale, the Maurice Lacroix Fiaba collection pairs its beautiful style with a disarming naturalness and fluidity. To say that the timepieces are rectangular doesn’t tell the whole story; their shapes are soft and distinguished, classical and yet contemporary, and designed to sit on the wrist like a second skin. Even the hands are a study in elegance, slightly raised from the dial in order to effortlessly glide around their surroundings, with this kind of attention to detail only being offered by a manufacturer of Maurice Lacroix’s quality. Recently reinterpreted and available in black, silver-plated and mother of pearl, the Fiaba range sees the concept of refined elegance neatly and beautifully distilled into timepiece form.

Having no beginning or end due its sleek circular form, this Maurice Lacroix Fiaba Diamond Index Ladies’ Watch (FA1004-SS002-170-1) is a pure expression of contemporary timepiece design philosophy. Sumptuous luxury is provided by the inclusion of eleven TW natural polished diamonds on the white mother of pearl water drop pattern dial, while the blue hands add a dramatic and transfixing splash of colour. Totally free of sharp edges in order to feel as though it has been honed by the elements, this Maurice Lacroix Fabia Diamond Index Ladies’ Watch is a stunning and timeless addition to any stylish wardrobe.

Free Strap Adjustment

It's important that your watch fits your wrist comfortably and looks great at the same time.

Leather strap watches tend to fit without a problem for most wearers. However, watches fitted with metal bracelets often need adjusting to get the perfect fit.

This is generally a very simple procedure. We can do this for you, or you can get the watch adjusted locally.

Option 1. Specify your wrist measurement and we will adjust it before being sent

When purchasing a watch which has a metal bracelet with adjustable links, we will gladly adjust the watch bracelet to fit your wrist before sending the watch to you - free of charge!

Simply type your wrist measurement (in inches or centimetres) into the bracelet size section of the checkout and we will ensure the watch bracelet is adjusted accordingly before being sent to you. We will include all the surplus links, with the watch.

How to measure your wrist

You can measure your wrist with a piece of string which you can measure against a ruler:

You should allow about half a centimetre (1/4 inch) of slack to prevent it being too tight on your wrist.

In the event of you needing an extra-long wrist bracelet, which requires an extension to the original watch, we must obtain extra links from the manufacturer, and in this event, we will contact you to inform you of any possible delays or applicable charges.

Watches with bracelets adjusted by WatchNation are still eligible under our refund policy.

Option 2. Buy the watch online from WatchNation and have it adjusted locally

If you wish, you can have it adjusted locally by another jeweller or key cutter. However, you will have to cover the cost of this option yourself.
