Brice Januet’s 15 year journey through the upper echelons of the horological world, including Raymond Weil and Zenith, culminated in the creation of his own brand, Briston. It is a brand whose image has been sculpted by Januet’s own personal experiences as well as a proficiency to create and deliver unique excellence.
It is a French brand born out of a very British spirit, it revives the codes of French elegance and infuses them with a British spirit. As a member of the Oxford University alumni, Januet would have been exposed to the famous boat races and sporting traditions that bestowed the world with the staples of the sport chic look.
The design of the watches resonate deeply with the aesthetics of these sporting institutions that have come to define the preppy style that adorns the campus’ of Ivy League universities in the United States.
Briston are also unique in the fact that they use a material called, cellulose acetate. It is a material deployed in the high-end optics industry, it is made from 70% cotton flower and fibre so it is a natural, anti-allergic substance. It can be polished so it resembles a tortoiseshell, which encapsulates the typical English 'clubhousey' style.
